Is This Fate? Synopsis

Irene is 48 years old and is getting divorced after 20 years. She lives with her children in one of the high-rise buildings in Berlin's Märkisches district. After the divorce, her husband continues to live in the same apartment. Although Irene lives on the support of the social welfare office, unlike her divorced husband, she does not want to regard the everyday constraints as fate. She wants to pursue her needs in addition to her role as a mother and housewife. Not least to show their children that one should have the courage to fight for better living conditions for oneself.
